Guatemala is a beautiful country, but as in any destination, it is important to take precautions:

- Use reliable transportation (official cabs, Uber or tourist shuttles).
- Keep your belongings safe, especially in markets and bus stations.
- Find out about safe zones and avoid areas with high crime rates.
- Try to handle little cash, preferably in quetzales because the dollar circulates little in the country
- Take care of your luggage, avoid forgetting your belongings on buses
- To leave the country carry your documents in order
- Avoid exceeding the immigration time
Climate and best time to travel
Dry season: November to April, ideal for traveling the country without rain.
