Our history begins
In TICA BUS we started operations on September 13, 1963, as a family business. With a pioneering approach and limited resources, we established routes throughout the Central American region and revolutionized the ground transportation service. Thus, we cemented our reputation and became a benchmark in the area.

The 1970s was a period of growth and consolidation.

Expansion and Leadership
We took full control of international transportation in the area. Since then, we have maintained our leadership in the market, investing in new units, modern terminals and innovative services for our customers.

Challenges
In the 1980s we faced great difficulties due to political conflicts in Central America. This forced us to reduce our operations, eliminating destinations and minimizing our presence in the region. During this time, our services were limited to the route between Costa Rica and Panama. After an eight-year crisis, we managed to recover and reopen routes, once again expanding our coverage to all of Central America.

Investments and growth
In the early 90's, we began a continuous process of investment in buses, technology, terminals, and continuous training for our employees, which continues to be a priority for us.

In that year, we were able to expand our operations with connections as far as Tapachula, Mexico.

Despite the unprecedented challenges we faced in 2020, our company once again demonstrated its resilience and ability to adapt. With determination and a focus on our customers, we were able to overcome difficulties and restore our operations. This period reaffirmed our commitment to excellence and spurred us to further strengthen our infrastructure and services, ensuring that we can continue to provide the best transportation experience to our customers".
